When installing SQL Server 7.0 BETA 3

I run the setup program from the CD-rom. And begin installing the desktop and typical version.
The installation program installs the files, then MDAC, MMC, MSDTC, HTML Help, and
ActiveX Components. After the installing of activeX components the Installation program show a
Message saying ”Starting Service” (I think to initiate server) after a while I get the first error message:
A message-box appears and shows the following line
in the title-line of message-box:
  Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
It contains:
  Assertion failed!
  Program: C:\MSSQL7\BINN\CNFGSVR.EXE
  File: ../src/sqlsspi.c
  Line 119

  Expression: Count

  For information on how your program can cause an assertion
  failure, see the Visual C++ documetation on asserts

  (Press  retry to debug the application - JIT must be
  enabled
End of message box.....

Then this message-box appears:
  The title-line shows: Sql Server setup
And the box contains:
  Setup failed to configure SQL-Server. Refer to the
  SQL-Server error logs and cnfgsvr.out for more information
End of error box...

Then I get kicked out of the installation program.

The contents of cnfgsvr.out after the non successful installation:

Starting Service ...
Connecting to Server ...
driver={sql server};server=DEFAULT;UID=sa;PWD=;database=master

The error log contains the following information:

This is the same error message as I received when I was attempting to install 7.0 beta on a WIN 98 standalone computer.
If that's what you're doing, here's your solution.  If not you can reject my answer.

Solution:
Right click on Network Neighborhood and view the Properties. Check on the Configuration tab and ensure that a network client like "Client for Microsoft Networks" is installed.  If not, use the add button and add the network client. After this is installed you should be able to successfully install SQL Server Beta 3 on your Windows 95/98 platform.
