Hi,

I have very little knowledge of Apple Mac's and I  would like to reinstall MacOs.  The system is a powerpc 603e/160.... i'm just looking for some basic info on what i need to do and also anything that I should look out for.

Is it possible to format the hard drive and start a fresh?
do i need to worry about cd rom drivers etc?

Any help would be much appreciated..

You obviously need the MacOS install CD. For a 603e/160 you will also want to make sure youve got Drive Setup 1.3.1 or later as earlier versions had problems. Yes you may certainly reformat the drive. You will need to boot from the cd by holding down C at startup. At this point you will be able to reformat the drive. Choosing the basic install will install everything you need for THAT computer as well as all CD drivers. Lemme know if theres anything else youd like to know.
