What is Data Environment

After upgrading to VB 6 Enterprise I was surprised to see that the help files were replaced by MSDN, a package my company, unfortunately, did not buy.  In Delphi, there is such a thing as a Data Module, which enables the developer to access data by calling upon the components in the Data Module from anywhere in the application--something sorely missing from VB 5.  Is the new Data Environment object similar?  Can anyone provide some links to info about the new Data Environment feature in VB 6?

You can refer to the MSDN online library. In order to get the information, you must register as a member in microsoft web page. You go to www.microsoft.com/msdn then you enter
MSDN online library. You can see an item "Visual Basic Documentation" . Under the topic, it has an item called "What's new in Visual Basic 6.0". Then you double click "What's new in Data Access", you can see information related to Data Environment.
I strongly suggest you to use this library. It is very useful.

Remark: From MSDN online library.
"The Data Environment designer provides an interactive, design time environment for creating programmatic run-time data access. At design time, you set property values for Connection and Command objects, write code to respond to ActiveX® Data Object (ADO) events, execute commands, and create aggregates and hierarchies. You can also drag Data Environment objects onto forms or reports to create data-bound controls."
