How can I create and set query parameters at run-time (thus, without use the parameters editor) ?

You can just simply write the SQL statement with the ':' to create and use parameters.

query1.sql.text:='Select * from my table where myfield1=:myvalue1'

query1.parambyname('myvalue1').asstring:='xxxxx';
