Is there any way to assign an object (or a variant type, or class for that matter) to the data object in an OLEdrag event. ie. so it can be retrived with data.getdata...

I know all the work arounds, so all I need is a yes and the method to do it, or No and a quick explination of why not.

A variant can be done.  I can give you a function that converts a variant to a binary array and back.

A class can not be done since you are passing process boundaries and the memory location of your class is not known in the other process. In C you could do it within a process but not in VB.

The variant I can fudge like this, but I really wanted to pass a Collection class using the OLEdrag, but  only inside my project( to start with)

Hum ho, This was exactly the problem I thought of, but it would neated up my code greatly if I could do this, spewing! It is good to have conformation though.

I will leave this unmarked for 10 hours or so, for any dissenting or agreeing comments then award the points, thanks MirkWood
