INFORMIX Database and VB5 Question

Hi everyone!

I wish i can seek some help from you guys. I have a project which I developed in VB5 with INFORMIX as a backend Database, I just want to know whats the reason why it execute a query "VERY SLOW".  
  I am using INFORMIX Data Director for VB5 to connect to INFORMIX database.  
  I run the same program using a MS Access Database and it run FAST as I expected.

WHAT can I do to resolve this query problem, I need your help guys this project is very URGENT.

Hello,

Please try to execute your query passthrough and please verify your informix database indexes.

You can post the query and your table or tables and the indexes in use and i will try to help you

Dim rs as recordset
dim sSQL as String

sSQL = "SELECT [Fields] FROM [table] ";

set rs = YourDB.OpenRecordset(sSQl,DbopenDynaset,dbsqlpassthrough)

The data contained in a passthrough query is read-only. after
you have to make dml operations with another instruction.
