I've declared a file stream, in to which i can pass data to and from other stteams, however i have a case where i wish to extract chars and strings from a stream. According to  the help files i should be able to use e.g. tempstring:=openreader.readstring;
as far as i can tell i've made the correct declarations, however when i run the program, this particluar line of code returns a 'invalid property value' error msg.
I'm probably just missing something basic, but its really annoying now.

Hi itoft,

look at this example of Pablo Pissanetzky :

This code should work for all Delphi versions.

Regards, Zif.
