i have 2 sound cards installed in my computer Aureal Vortex and sound blaster 16 pnp. I use Vortex for sound and sb is disabled in device manager except for game port. I have problem getting 2 joysticks to work (each connected to sound card). How do I configure it so both of my joysticks work.

having 2 sound cards in 1 pc can cause conflicts...if u want to use 2 Joysticks, you should buy a joystick with a port on it so you can hook up another Joystick to it, you can try and enable your sb16 pnp card, then try an assign it its own Interrupt because i would think it would be conlicting with your current soundcard, see if this helps

It's possible to use 2 games ports on the same computer (same I/O port = conflict).
But with a simple game port you can connect two joystics (x,y axes) or one complex joystics ( x,y axes, speed, rudder...)
If you can want to connect 2 joystick, you must buy a "Y" cable !! ( two sub 15 female and one sub 15 male)

You could find more documentation in your sound blaster documentation ( connector pin-out).

You must read : (precedent answer)
It's not  possible to use 2 games ports on the same computer (same I/O port = conflict).
Moreover, games are not able to control 2 games ports.

But : a game port  : 2 channels. (4 analogic inputs and 4 digitals (buttons) inputs). You can use 2 ordinary joysticks ( 2 axes, 2 buttons).

The only way : to buy a Y cable ! ( it's possible to  made one if you have a soldering iron  )

Sorry.
