Source Safe and Visual C++

Hello,
I've installed VSS for the first time and I'm trying to support VB and VC++. The Vss opens the VB files as it supposed to but for unknown reason, it doesn't open the VC++ files as VC++ but as notepad.If I'm trying to open VC++ and work with the VSS from there, all the options are disable, except the SourceSafe.exe.
Any suggestions why it happanes and how can I solve it and work with c++ and VSS.

Many thanks.

VSS opens files using the program that is associated with the extension - perhaps your associations are not set up correctly.

Problems do arise between VSS and VC++ when the two have different ideas about the working folders for VSS projects (since both write to the users VSS ini file then whichever exits last gets to write its own settings down.)

You may need to manually edit the INI file for the user and remove all the working folder settings. Then set them up again in VSS. After this VC++ should get it right when it is run again.

 VC++ also appears to store some VSS state inside its workspace files which may also need sorting out.

Cheers,

Raymond.
