Video Problem

I have just built a Pentium II 400Mhz PC, (when i checked the processor with win checkit it said that the processor was a Pentium II 400Mhz Xeon Processor)the motherboard
(PC100 BX Chipset)has intergrated Sis 3d Pro 8Mb 6326 Graphics Chipset. I have installed windows98 and a Voodoo II 12MB Accelarator card.

When i right click on the desktop to get the display properties the monitor flickers off for a second then shows the disploay properties, also i get quite a few fatal exception errors all relating to the graphics card.....
I have also got Direct X5 installed.

Any help would be appriciated to get this problem solved.........

Is normal that the screen flickers when there's a voodoo card installed.  And DX6 is available from Windows update, it comes with a DX diagnostic program that let you test your vga card, you might want to check it out.

After installing the DX6 core, you can find the DX diagnostic at C:\program files\directx\setup\dxdiag.exe

I'll give you the points as your answer got me thinking in the right direction....

After running a diag's on the voodoo card i then tried it in a second machine, it worked fine...

after further diag's i found that their was dry solder patches on the motherboard, after replacing the board all worked ok...

Thanks......
