The problem is fixed. The problem was that I'd removed the sound card which the cd rom was attached too by connections. I cannot use the cdrom without the soundcard on the motherboard because the cdrom-audio is built-in by Compaq. No jumper settings or other slots for the cdrom. Thanks for your help anyway.<br />
