I'v installed Oracle client 8.0.4 (for Win 95 and NT) in Win 98

 While creating a FIle DSN name via ODBC administrator or while connecting to the database via sqlplus I get the foll. error :
odbcad32 - this program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.
The odbcad32.exe which I have in my windows/system directory has a Vs number 3.0.2822

Please help !!

You have outdated odbc drivers and you should download and install updated drivers from microsoft, You should download the full set of odbc drivers if you need the oracle drivers. Here is the driver location.

http://www.microsoft.com/data/odbc/download/ODBC35IN.exe

I believe that this update will solve your problem.
It is the newest download available for odbc and also fixes some year 2000 problems.
