How to do so that the program draws a graph with x and y axis, when the user enters some coordinates x and y.

You mean you basically want to convert from screen coordinates to coordinates one is used to seeing on something like, for example, a graphing calculator (Cartesian coordinates)?

Yes, Cartesian graph where we have two axis, Vertical and horizontal. Just like a x-y graph in MS Excel.

I can send you a complete program that I wrote back in the days of DOS that does just what you want, i.e. it coverts coordinates to and from the cartesian system.  I wrote it for a math class, so it also flips images, dilates them, that sort of thing.  If you would like to see it, please post your email address.
