backup?

Hihi,
how do I backup the contacts list? Like say if I want to format my hard-disk, then which file should I save so that I can restore my contacts lists in Outlook? Take note: I am not referring to the address book.

The address book is *.pab
Contacts are stored in the Outlook address book, part of your mailbox.  This can be stored locally, or on a server (if you're part of a network)
*.ost is your offline folder, they will be in there (if you have one)

I try the the find files dialogue box but I can't find any files ending with the extension .pab even when I switched on the extension for every file. I could only file a file with the ext .wab which is my Outlook Express address book. Do u know the specific folder for the MS Outlook 97 address book?

You may try looking in the Windows\Applications\Microsoft\Outlook Directory for the nessary files (*.pst) If you have a zip drive you can save these to a disk and then re-load after the Format of the drive anfd re-install of Outlook (98 I assume)
