After I format the hard drive, how can i install win98?
Can i just use a startup disk for win98 and use it to install cd-rom drives and then install this OS from the intalled cd drive?

That's right simply install a win98 startup disk and while it starts it will prompt you and ask whether or not you want cd-rom support. simply press enter and there you have it. You will then be able to install win98 from your cd-rom.
