Stored Procs Text datatype

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to pass and return text data types to and from stored procedures?

I'm sure you cannot pass a text field to/from stored procedures, because there is no mechanism to write a text field (as "text") to a variable.  But you could convert to varchar(255) and pass that, however you would only get the first 255 characters of text.

Thankyou for your answer,  I have accepted it because due to the time sensitive nature of my project I have opted for a quick solution.  If I had more time I would investigate deeper into RDO 2.0 and confirm for definite whether or not the object model supports returned text data.
