I'm sure programming will be better payed. No question about it, but you said you are studying vb5, that's ok, but don't make the jump too fast, it can hit you back hard, also while you're studying vb5, vb6 is out. <br />
If you can, have a talk with a programmer and ask him some questions about his work, downs and ups, unsleeped night, etc.<br />
