In the past,I have been using Netscape as my news and mail program.  I got a new computer with Communicator 4.06 installed.  The news server for my ISP is news.erols.com.  For some reason, Netscape won't let me add this server without giving me an error message that says server does not have a DNS entry.  I setup outlook express to browse newsgroups.  Over the last two days, I have been getting an error message that says something like server has unexpectedly lost connection.  Is there a setting in Outlook Express that automatically drops the newsgroup connection after a specified time?  If that isn't the problem, what else would be causing this message?

Hi,

Your problem is a slow connection, and when Outlook tries to get the news it get a timeOut, what you should do is right click on your news server, select properties, go to advanced and adjust the server time Out .

You should also see in Tool->Options->General and adjust the time to check for new messages ..
