porting

we have developed database engine in 'C'on 16 bit platform,now we need to port  this application  to 32 bit platform.Please give us the idea how to do it and also suggest specific tools and books for this task.

Hmmm...  Did you read the URLs?  They *do* contain detailed instructions.  I don't think there is a better reference.

First, search MSVC online help for the topic "Porting 16-Bit Code to 32-Bit Windows".  It contains a fair amount of information that will help you.
