Unless you really want to use &quot;WaveSynth&quot; the onboard wavetable sounds are pretty good and don't create system overheads.<br />

A simple way to change to this it to load &quot;media player&quot; and drop a midi file into it. When it starts playing, stop the song and click on Device/properties &nbsp;and select the other AWE64 device. This sets the default midi device.<br />

Now having mentioned the easy way, there is a way to remove the splash screen but as i don't have a card here available,i'd be sending you on a chase to nowhere. There maybe an option in the Wavesynth setup to remove the splash screen but i can't confirm that right now.<br />

AWE64-screen is enoying!
