I have a Sounblaster AWE64. Every now and then when I play games or when a homepage is using midi-songs, a screen comes up showing that Creative Wavesynyh/WG is running. I don't want to see the screen every time, how can I get rid of it?

Unless you really want to use "WaveSynth" the onboard wavetable sounds are pretty good and don't create system overheads.

A simple way to change to this it to load "media player" and drop a midi file into it. When it starts playing, stop the song and click on Device/properties  and select the other AWE64 device. This sets the default midi device.

Now having mentioned the easy way, there is a way to remove the splash screen but as i don't have a card here available,i'd be sending you on a chase to nowhere. There maybe an option in the Wavesynth setup to remove the splash screen but i can't confirm that right now.

To hide the splash screen:

Run Creative WaveSynth/WG

Click the icon at the top left hand corner.

A menu will open. On the menu, click on "Hide Splash Screen On First MIDI Playback".

Hope this helps!
