Does WINSOCK control crash windows?

I made a program which includes the winsock control but when I open up multiple instances of this app and tell both apps to connect to a website, download a page, and log out AND I then shut down one of the apps my entire WIN95 crashes.  Is there a unique way to properly shut down winsock besides calling the winsock1.close method?  Or is this a possible bug with VB again?

my experience with the winsock is a client/server program, i know that to close a connection, the client must send a message to the server saying i want to close the connection and then the server close it (only the server can close a connection, there's no way).
(the message was invented by me : a stupid string :-) ).
if the client close the connection then the program crashed.
so i think that is the answer at you problem.
for connecting internet don't use a vb application, use a browser programmed with vb (using ip address, excluding winsock)
if you want my program client/server then mail me at cedric.defosse@moodif.com (for 50 points more :-) ).
