video processing

any clues as to video input into Mac re storring it in a Buffer, to then allow "sampling" from it, and processing image
I am in effect trying to make a video dranular synthesis application.

Hi,

That should be fairly easy, thanks to Quicktime.

If you have video input capabilities on your Mac, chances are you have driver software for it.

What you want to do is use the "Sequence Grabber" Components of Quicktime to capture a single video frame. The Components have standard controls and dialogs you can use to capture the image and store it in a format that can be converted to whatever you want using the image conversion Components.
