Creating a form for re-occuring reservations

How would you go about creating a form for to track re-occuring meetings similar to the what is given to users in the calendar entry form,ie, I would like to create something similar to the repeat action button.

Create a meeting form having two date and time fields with other necessary data fields e.g. purpose, place etc.
In querysave event of that form check if the date & time fields are not occupied for that person. I had recently worked on a similar problem of machine reservation. It is working fine. The Lotusscript is used to compare the date with following algorithm
1. Initialize the view having 1st column as person's name sorted.
2. Get all the documents of that person's name. (NotesDocument Collection)
3. Parse all the documents and get the From and To time field say as temp1 and temp2
4. Get the date and time field say date1 and date2 of current ui document.
5. Check if (date1>temp1 AND date1 <temp2) , (date2>temp1 AND date2 <temp2) , (date1<temp1 AND date2 >temp2) under these cases warn the user that time is occupied or whatever you feel like....
6 else allow the user to schedule the meeting.
