Create pdf_document from database!!

I don't know if this question should put here!!
I have a webpage useing SQL_database,
I want to create pdf_document or Word_document or pagemaker_document direct from post that I pick up from the database, How can I do or if I can do that??

I have successfully written and deployed a system that outputted both PDF's and Word 2.0 documents from a SQL Server Database.

Essentially, I used two middleware components -- Cold Fusion and Crystal Reports with a custom Cold Fusion tag that converts Crystal Reports templates to PDF or Word.  You'll need to install Cold Fusion on your server and obtain a copy of Crystal Reports to format your template.

Point your browser to http://www.allaire.com/developer/gallery/index.cfm?ObjectID=7259
and pick up the custom tag that does all the work. There should be a PDF document explaining how to do everything.  If not, let me know and I'll forward it to you.

Basically you use Crystal Reports to format your database information into a template file, then write a Cold Fusion script that calls the custom tag, passing it the Crystal Reports template information.

We have a database maintained in an SQL server that is offsite.  We also want to allow users to the website to not only see the results of their queries, but also to view and download parts or all of the database as a .pdf file.  Since we don't have a work around yet, we are manually updating a WordPeferct table each time we add new data or removed all data - and WordPerfect has been abondoned by our agency - and then letting the users view the database in a .pdf format built from the WordPerfect table.  

Are there mainstream tools - such as from Adobe, MicroSoft, etc, that will allow us to build the .pdf on the fly for the web user?
