In the menu project, options, packages you can choose build with/out runtime packages. When I build *with* the file is about 20k and without it's about 250k.
Now I wonder will I be able to run the smaller version on a computer that hasn't got all the delphi dll and such installed?

Yes you can. You will need to supply the necessary runtime packages with your executable (at least the DCLSTD one) - which are freely redistributable.

Building with run time packages means that all the components you use etc from the VCl are used fro a separate package you ship with your app. The result is the app is smaller and is you have several delphi apps you can reduce the size of your installation by having all the apps share the packages rather than having an copy linked into each app.

Cheers,

Raymond.
