DDE Connection

Dear Experts,

I am writing a program that uses DDE, and am trying to determine if a connection is established, if a linkexecute command is executed, a value poked.

My question is if there are values returned when a connection is established to indicate the connection is made, or if a value is returned to indicate if a linkexecute is executed?

I need a way to know if the connection has been established, if commands have been sent and executed, and if the connections remain established while link pokes and peeks are in progress.

Any info in this area would be a help.  My current code seems to work fine, however, I'd like to make it more robust.

Are you using NETDDE or DDE?
And with which applications?

Actually you dont need any code or anynthing to see if you have connected properly.  As soon as you change LinkMode to anything other than 0, then if it can't connect, vb comes up with an error.  There aren't any variables that are passed when you connect, but nothing will execute after the line where you set the linkMode.
