Well, I can anwer on of these, I'll look for the other.  Here is the info on the HP.

The current HP OfficeJet Series 600 software has been
designed and tested specifically for the Microsoft Windows
95/98 and 3.1 operating environments. The HP OfficeJet
Series 600 does not support other operating systems
including OS/2, Macintosh, DOS, UNIX, and Windows NT.

You really have two questions in one, don't approve my answer until Ihave the Brother part for you.

Requires Windows(R) 95, 98 or NT(R) 4.0 Workstation

I am surprised that there are not any drivers available for these

mfc applications for a powermac!  What does one do when trying to

to buy a quality multifunction printer for a mac?

I am sorry to say that all our HP All-in-One products do not support the Mac.  I would love to sell you on one since i'm one of the electrical  engineers that  designs them.
