I am having trouble with the following in the user interface.

1. Recently used files do not show up on the File submenu choices for Recent Files and Recent Workspaces, even though that option is checked on the Tools|Options|Workspace Tab. If I uncheck this option, the files and workspaces do appear on the File menu.

2. On the Projects menu, when I have a project open, The Add to Projects menu choice does not open the next menu item which should allow me to open the Component Gallery.

3. The Component Gallery does not appear anywhere.

This is just a wild stab in the dark, I'm afraid: no more. Don't do it unless you yourself think that it sounds plausible.

Try uninstalling Visual C++, opening up Regedit, and navigating to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\DevStudio\5.0. Delete the whole key with all of its subkeys, and then reinstall. This might just work if there were some kind of corruption, but I doubt it. Also don't do it if you have other DevStudio products.

Please check the version or license restrictions of the software. If
it is an evaluation version then component gallery may not be available.
