finding ethernet

I was given a 5200/LC75, which is now on my network of 10 Macs. I reinitialized the harddrive and installed OS 8.0. When my friend came to hook it up to the Internet, we could not get out. There is an installed ethernet card and it was working (lighting up), but when we went to TCP/IP...connect via: there was no ethernet...only PPP and appletalk. How do we get the ethernet to show up? What are we missing? I have 7 macs hooked into a hub, on a T1 line, that are working, but they are all newer machines.

Use the control panel Apple talk and choose ethernat. After this it should work.

If I remember correctly...and I will go check after Christmas, we did try looking at the control panel and it said printer port or modem port, but no ethernet, so I still need another idea as to what to try.
