Most component that I downloaded it captured video to
avi-format. Could I capture video from external camera
to other format?

Yes, you could capture it to *.bmp, or anything you like...
This question is asked few days ago, and i gave the man a link and send hem a project wich capture the video to *.bmp, or *.avi...
