Do you know I could save the contents of a picture box in jpeg format? or where I can get a FREE 3rd party control to do the same?

Try www.componentsource.com they have a huge supply of VB ActiveX controls.... also WWW.Download.com has heaps (you must select ActiveX though!)

The Wang Image (Edit) control that comes free with Windows is capable of viewing and saving files between .bmp, .jpg and .tif... in vb5, use PROJECT|Components to add the control to your project.. the control's Image property allows you to assign a bitmap to the control... the control's SaveAs method allows you to specify the file type (format) for saving.
