I know you can create a toolbar in Visual C++ and use it as a custom toolbar in Microsoft Word, and when you click on a button of this toolbar, it calls a C++ program. I want to know if I can interact with VB using a custom toolbar in Word

You can write macros in VBA that reference an OLE Server/ActiveX EXE/DLL that is written in VB. The macro can then be assigned to a button on the word toolbar.

You can also programatically install the toolbar button and macro by including it in a document and having a user open it.

You could at a simpler level just use the shell command to call a VB program.
