no color in windows 3.1

a friend of mine bought 3 ibm compters and installed
windows 3.1 in each. One of then show color in dos programs but not color in windows 3.1

On the one that shows no color...its posible it has a bad video card...you can try reinstalling the video drivers...but I feel its either a bad card...or the cable from the monitor to the video card is either loose, has a bent pin ,or is bad. Try this..take the monitor from the bad one to one of the other 2,if it works its the card or drivers,if not its the monitor or cable.

question how can the video card be bad when the dos programs shows color
and when in the window 3.1 there is no color???

windows 3.1 is in a differnt resolution mode than DOS. It may just be in that mode that the card is failing.
