at crystal report side open your report.then under "File" uncheck the "Save data with report" and under "Database" checked the "Verify on every print"

wenchang,

Your response is greatly appreciated.  It is refreshing now, and this is what I did based on your information:  I unchecked "Save data with Report", removed the password from my Access database, and I did not check "Verify on every print".  This is the only way it worked.  I was curious on how I can still keep the Access database password protected and make the refresh work--it wouldn't work unless I removed the password.  In the future I want to migrate this Access database to SQL Server and I am sure that I will run into problems with password at that juncture.  Your comments are are greatly appreciatted.

Thank you . . . . daverey
