Direct Cable Connection problems

I have a laptop running Windows 95 and a PC which I have upgraded to 98. When the PC was running 95 I had no problem connecting as 'guest' or 'host', now I can only connect with the Laptop as 'guest' and the PC as 'host', not vis versa. When trying to connect with the PC as guest it asks for the name of the host which I type in and then it does not find it. I've checked that the identification of the laptop is correct - I notice it also has a Workgroup reference though, could this be part of the problem.

Any clues?

you need to give both pc and laptop the same workgroup name under control panel\network\identification  .
ie workgroup1 or whatever
then you should have no prob
