I'm looking for information, web links or book titles which thoroughly walk through the creation of a non-trivial component which exposes IOleItemContainer.  It would be great if ATL were used, but not neccessary.

Thanks,
-Ray

Hi Ray,

You should register for MSDN, I think the place to search for Windows issues is at the place of the creators themselves. It's free and you can search on almost every object exposed in the whole Windows universe :O).
There are even whole books on programming there to browse through, I did a search on IOleItemContainer and the results came up with information about using the Interface and examples of using it.

Or you can search on the MFC Professional page

http://www.visionx.com/mfcpro/mfc-l/index.htm

This is a link to their archive, it contains a lot about OLE.

Another excellent source on Ole is the Visual C++ Developers Journal

http://207.78.109.70/default.asp

And not to forget MFC's Programmers Sourcebook

http://www.codeguru.com/

You can download here a beta version of "Thinking in C++" second edition by Bruce Eckel.

Hope this helps you any further
:O)

I'll take this answer.  Sorry I forgot to accept earlier.

I give you a 'b' because I had to weed through a lot of info to get to what I needed.

That's OK, my first answer in C++ hahahaha, I really like the COM concept and OLE is just a tip from what's to COM :O)
