Change Note clients to another domain

What´s the best way to change notes clients to another notes domain ?

Here is some background information:

I want to setup a complete new notes domain in our company with a new certifier. For all the users in our excisting domain i must create a new user account (new .id file), but i don´t want to do a new clientsoftware setup to connect to the new domain.

The software doesn't need to change (but just about everything else does).  The users will need to change domain and mail info on the location document at their client.  If you want, you can just erase all but the first 3 lines of the notes.ini file, and relaunch the client to do the 're-install' of all the notes.ini stuff (like type of connection, mail server, etc.)  All the security will also have to be redone, since everyone will be re-certified.  All old encrypted data will no longer be accessible.  Cross-certify between the domains would make migrating or accessing old data a lot easier (See help, or especially the Domino Admin 2 course materials).  Are you really sure you want to do this?

Hi Rloomis

Thanks for your response.

I was already thinking about the first option you mentioned, to erase the notes.ini on the client software, but i wasn´t convinced that this was a good option. Since our domino environment doesn´t have many users (about 150) and it´s in a pilot fase so  it isn´t a problem to do this, but it´s a good option to merge the 2 domains by cross certify them. I will look at this, but i must indeed read the admin2 course material again.

Greetings Bob !!!
