Has anybody got some code that will duplicate the startup tab/listbox that vb5/6 uses, ie. shows recently used files and gives the opportunity to get an existing file or a new one

That is is my question! how do you do it. Specifically, my requirement is exactly the same as the VB5/6

Ok, with such a requirement in mind.
I highly suggest you DL the CCRP FileDialog.

http://www.mvps.org/ccrp/controls/ccrpfiledlg.htm

It is free and may be used inside your application , royalty free.
Works well to, VB5 & 6 sample included.
