The proggie will send photo albums via e-mail so others can see them. It includes the setup and help files for the player which is necessary to view the album. Any clues for fixing this cock-up?

Thats third party software that does not like new technology.  Your not going to get around that.  It's causing an error in the MAPI (Messaging Aplication Programming Interface) - what that means is whatever it's trying to do, Windows does not like it, and is not made to handle it.  I would contact the manufacturer and tell them that they need to update their software and provide you with a patch.

Flexible connectivity for any environment

The KE6900 series can extend and deploy computers with high definition displays across multiple stations in a variety of applications that suit any environment. Expand computer use to stations across multiple rooms with dynamic access.

The only hit for your exact error message from the Microsoft Knowledge Base is accessed through the link below.  It addresses, however, Outlook 98, did you upgrade from that and perhaps the upgrade had problems?

Did you check SFC (system file checker) if any critical files are corrupted and/or were replaced and need updating?  I've experienced these problems when various MFC*.dlls were replaced by applications, among others.
