A managable hub is one that you can control some of it's functions remotely.  Most now have HTTP capability so that you can check it's status, enable/disable ports, etc.

Both HP and 3COM are reputable managed hub vendors and make excellent products.  3COM is more popular in this market.

Is there a reason you believe you need a managable hub vs. a "dumb" one?  They are considerably more expensive.
