You need to go into Project - Components and add the Microsoft Multimedia control, paste one on your form (it can be invisible) and this is the code that I used to crank up mine:
        MMControl1.Notify = False
        MMControl1.Wait = True
        MMControl1.Shareable = False
        MMControl1.DeviceType = "Sequencer"
        MMControl1.filename = "C:\WINDOWS\YOURMIDI.MID"

        MMControl1.Command = "Open"
        MMControl1.Command = "Play"

I'm dabbling in some midis myself. Do you know where I could get some good ones?

The control is MCI32.OCX. You got an email address? You may be able to download it from Microsoft.
