How do I get the Dail-up Networking password to be saved so I don't have to reenter it every time I log on?  Clicking the save password is not an option since it never works.

You are probably using windows '95.
There are a couple of things you need to do.
1 - Download the password list fix at:
it's under the heading Service packs
2 - After downloading it, run the file.
if that doesn't fix the problem, then delete your faulty password list from your windows diretory. (It ends with PWL)
3 - Now try the save password option in the dial-up networking box.

Hope this helps.

I couldn't access the web site, so I just deleted the *.pwl files.  But it did not take effect until after I rebooted.  Now it works and I am a happy camper.  Thanks!

I tried the http address again. And it works, you might want to try it again or just forget about it.

I'm glad your problem is fixed. :)
