TFT Screens?

I bought a laptop machine oct 1997...since then its has given me many problems. last June 1998 - i had the machine for barely 7 months, i just moved the screen slightly, there was a noise and it cracked. I went back to the manufacturer and they refused to cover it in the warranty and said it was my fault (misuse) and that is why it had cracked. I know this is not true - i am now going to court over this matter.

The screen was a TFT screen but few opinions seemed to think that it wasnt really.

can you please tell me whether it is easy for such screens to easily crack and what are the main differenecs between TFT and Dual scan screens?

Thanks

My Wifey's Compaq has travelled all over the world with us (at least 10 transatlantic flights, all over england, Europe) and had all sorts of horrible things happen to it (British Airways baggage handlers, X-ray machines etc and the screen (I think a TFT) has been fine. Shame the floppy drive has packed up but that was when I was copying a file to it and the shock must have killed it. It sounds to me like the manufacturer is trying to pull a fast one. Screw em in court I say :o)

Try www.webopedia.com and search on 'tft'.

This will tell you what it means and give links to related sites, papers etc. etc.

I hope this helps.
