XMOUSE and other microsoft intellimouse features

Can someone tell me how Xmouse is implemented.(Give source
code if possible).I also want to implement the Microsoft
Intellimouse controls. I want to know how they wrap the
mouse pointer,position mouse over default item,and
DISPLAY A SONAR WHEN CONTROL  KEY IS PRESSED etc. Please
oh brainy ones, help me out.

What you will need to do is write a system message hook for the mouse and keyboard messages. This hook must live in the DLL and brought to life by an EXE by using SetWindowsHookEx().

Go to http://www.microsoft.com/msj and download the source files for June 1997. Look at the code for Under the Hood. This has a start of what you're looking for.
