How to Use MS Excel and Delphi 4

If i make an BDE alias, which is pointing to an MyBook.xls
How can i use it(MyBook.xls) in Delphi for database.
I get stuck when i'm supposed to give a table name (property of TTable object)

intheCommented:
Excel files will not appear in the TTable.TableName property
drop-down so to work around this you have to enter the worksheet file name with no extension followed by a $ in the TableName property.
You can also add a cell range. example MyBook$A2:F1000
To read all of the rows in the worksheet when specifying a cell range make the ending row number larger than the last possible row.

If i use that, then GetFieldName will work propperly (can i read/write to this cell range?)

hi,
to be honest i am not sure but i dont see why not .i had to do a bit of digging to get the answer for you as i dont know much on using excel like this.i only got the above from a teamb member and that was all i could find
