Need Help With Transparent Background/White Text

Hi, I don't know what I did right the first time but I was hoping someone could offer any suggestions....

I wanted to make transparent buttons with white text for a web page that has a blue (RGB 41, 41, 188/ Hex 2929bc) background.  The first time I got my white text with blue tints in them and so it looks great on this blue background.  When I tried to recreate it, I couldn't remember how I did it so the text is all white and it doesn't look so great against the blue background.

Can does anyone know how I recreated the first image?  You can see the two images at

Sun,
You're experiencing classic anti-aliasing difficulties.  This is what you should do:
1. open a new document in Photoshop, color the background layer with the blue (RGB: 41,41,188).
2. Type your text for the buttons on layer 1
3. Convert the image mode to Index Color
4. The image should now be flat.
5. EXPORT the image to GIF89 format.  When is asks you to choose the transparency color, select out away from the type.  You should get the white type with some blue fuzz around it (the anti-aliasing) and then the grey showing the transparent region.
6. Save this as your button
7. Upload to server and enjoy with some ice-cream.
