Does the Aptiva already have a DVD decoder card installed or is it software base decoding?

Installing the new DVD decoder card shouldn't interfere with your exsisting software, however in general unless you have software written to use your DVD decoder card installing it will not enhance the performace of playing DVDs on your machine.
