Error 3423

Hi,

We have our source tables (Access 97) in our server. And the front end stored on each of the Terminals (Access 97).
We get Error 3423 when we try to link them via ODBC in Access. Can this be done, we dont just want to attach the tables.

Im afraid ODBC is something I know very little about, this is a huge gap in my knowledge.

Any pointers would be great.

Ok,
is there a nice workaround? What do other ppl do?
For an workaround, try with classic linked tables but try to don't use functionalities that not exist in a ODBC Source. I don't know what this functionalities are, but is better if you design an application knowing what format for data have. If you want to upgrade an application you must verify your coding.
I don't know what means ppl.
Sorry smilataru, ppl = people!

So basically I cant do that eh? With linked tables, the performance is really slow. I was hoping ODBC would help solve that.
If you do this for speed reasons I can give you a decided answer. Through ODBC will go any time slower than linking direct tables. I thought to other reasons for using Access ODBC inm Access but if you use it just for speed the answer is clear. If you want to find what says other people reject the answer and wait for others answers. If you don't receive any better answer write me a comment and I repost my answer for you.

Ok smitarau,

It seems I cant get what I want... : ( :( :(
