On DEC OSF 4.0E and HPUX 10.20, how do you make use of the DNS server on Solaris 2.5? How do you indicate that you want to make use of the DNS server on Solaris?

create in /etc a file named resolv.conf contening one or more lines giving the ip addresses of nameservers to use

ie, on HP 10.20 ,  the file /usr/examples/bind/resolv.conf is done for example

root@xxx[/usr/examples/bind]cat resolv.conf

;
; /etc/resolv.conf file for using
; a server on another host.
;
nameserver 15.19.8.1

root@xxx[/usr/examples/bind]
in case of two lines with twice name servers, if the fist is alive, is given as name server;
otherwise is the second

beware: named daemon must be running on the describe machine

I tried your suggestions above, it works on HPUX, but not on DEC OSF. IS there anything else I need to do to activate it?
