Login Script

I need to create a login script for an NT Server that will do the following:

1. Enable Remote Administration on the Client 95 PC, all of the PC's are 95 clients logging on to a domain. This one may not be possible, but would be cool because we are trying to push an anti-viral program.

2. Map a drive to \\mt_nt\download

3. Copy 2 files from the \\my_nt\download directory

4. Execute the batch file for the download.

Help - I'm a CNA moving to NT and need this to work so I do not have to do a sneaker-net

Hi bobinmad,

place your login script (for example login.bat) in the folder c:\winnt\system32\repl\import\scripts on your NT-Server.

The login.bat should have the following items:
net use drive: \\mt_nt\download /yes
copy drive:\file1 localdrive:\path
copy drive:\file2 localdrive:\path
call localdrive:\path\download.bat

where drive: is the drive letter you want to map \\mt_nt\downlaod on your clients and localdrive:\path is the the path to your destination folder and download.bat is the name of your batch file for the download.

The /yes switch in the net use command makes the mapping permanently.

In the user manager for domains mark all the users that should execute the login script and choose properties in the user menu. Click on the profile button and type in the name of your login script (without path!) in the login script field.

But I think there is no way to enable remote administration by executing an login script on win 95 computers.

I forgot to say that download must be a share with read permissions for all users with this login script.
